Make your February fun & informative and attend the WIld & Scenic Film Festival. Not only is it an excuse to be enlightened, informed and fed....BUT, it also raises money to support the Kenai Watershed Forum. How's that for making February fun?
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is one of the largest conservation and adventure film festivals in North America. With a list of amazing award-winning films its easy to see why. Mark your calendars and come out to the Triumvirate Theatre on Saturday, February 25th.
A few of the movies that will be shown: The Secrets Held in the Ice:
Follow the adventure of pioneer glaciologist Claude Lorius who was convinced that the ice contained important information for the understanding of our planet's climatic history. He perseveres for 30 years until one day the ice reveals an unexpected message.....
The Super Salmon:
Proponents of a plan to construct a hydroelectric mega-dam on the Susitna River say it wouldn't affect the watershed's famous salmon runs because of its location.....until a super salmon proved them wrong.
